Non-EU Citizens 2025-2026

 

The category of non-EU citizens refers to any EU third country nationals holding a valid passport of that country, who participate in the admission session organized by the University of Craiova for tuition-paying places for studies (tuition fee paid in foreign currency).

Candidates shall apply for a Letter of Acceptances for Studies through the  where they must fill in all the fields with the requested information and upload all of the application documents mentioned below.

Candidates shall take full responsibility for the authenticity and correspondence of the submitted copies of digital/scanned documents with the original ones.

Once the registration period is over, candidates can no longer change their options and the order thereof in the registration form, nor add any further information to their application files.

Incomplete files will not be processed.

 

 

ADMISSION SESION

Study Place Confirmation All candidates included on the list of preliminary results must upload Annex 7 Confirmation Form (for candidates originating in non-EU countries) on the platform, as follows:

Important!

Once the final list of candidates accepted by the University of Craiova is published on the website, the ǿƵ Committee will send it to the Ministry of ǿƵ and Research in Romania, who will review the candidates’ application files and issue the Letters of Acceptance for the candidates who are eligible.

The electronic Letters of Acceptance for the accepted candidates will be sent to the ǿƵ Committee of the University of Craiova, who will make sure that accepted candidates receive their Letters of Acceptance with due diligence.

After receiving their Letters of Acceptance by email, candidates are to pay their tuition fees within a maximum of 15 calendar days and provide proof of payment to the member of the ǿƵ Committee that has been in contact with them. Further details are available below, under section Academic fees.

Accepted candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for their study visas immediately after receiving their Letters of Acceptance, as the process can be very time-consuming.

 

II. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS (Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree)

  1. birth certificate – certified copy or certified translation by a notary public (in Romanian, English or French, if the original was not issued in one of these languages);
  2. passport copy – valid for at least 6 months after the beginning of the study programme for which the candidate is applying;
  3. copy of the document certifying the permanent residency abroad;
  4. marriage certificate, if applicable (to prove the name change), certified copy or certified translation by a notary public (in Romanian, English or French, if the original was not issued in one of these languages);
  5. application form, duly filled in and signed (Annex 2B), which must include a recent photo of the candidate (to be filled in capital letters);
  6. high-school  graduation  diploma  or equivalent thereof  –  certified  copy  of the document in the language in which it was issued and certified translation by a notary public (in Romanian, English or French, if the original was not issued in one of these languages) - the documents are to be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country; graduates of the class of 2025 whose high school diplomas haven’t been issued yet must upload the graduation certificate until the diploma is issued;
  7. Bachelor’s Degree diploma  or equivalent thereof (only for Master’s Degree candidates) – certified copy of the document in the language in which it was issued and certified translation by a notary public (in Romanian, English or French, if the original not issued in one of these languages) - the documents are to be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country;graduates of the class of 2025 whose BA diplomas haven’t been issued yet must upload the graduation certificate until the diploma is issued;
  8. transcript(s) of  records  for  previous  studies  –  certified  copy or  certified translation by a notary public (in Romanian, English or French, if the original was not issued in one of these languages) and the syllabus for candidates who request validation of the studies attended for certain periods of time - the documents are to be authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country;
  9. medical certificate (in Romanian, English or French), stating that the applicant does not suffer from any contagious disease or illness which is not compatible with the future profession;
  10. copy of the certificate of graduation from the Romanian Language Preparatory Year or language proficiency evaluation test (for the foreign language in which the study programme will be carried)This shall not apply to candidates originating in countries whose official language is the language in which the study programme will be carried or candidates who have previously studied in that particular language;
  11. receipt/proof of payment of the file processing fee.

 

Doctoral Studies

I.  CALENDAR 

Application submission: April 15-July 13, 2025

Preliminary results of the files which received the agreement in principle of the doctoral supervisor shall be published on: July 15, 2025

Language Proficiency Evaluation Test: July 16, 2025

ǿƵ examination:  July 17-20, 2025

Final results shall be published on: July 21, 2025

LANGUAGE OF STUDY

Study programmes taught in Romanian

Candidates may apply for a study programme taught in Romanian provided that they have completed and obtained a graduation certificate for the Romanian Language Preparatory Year or they pass the Romanian language proficiency test conducted by the University of Craiova during the admission session (as per the admission calendar provided above) and scored a B1 level or higher.

The following categories of candidates are not required to hold and submit a graduation certificate for the Romanian Language Preparatory Year:

  • candidates submitting Romanian study documents (diplomas or certificates) or school records stating that they have pursued studies in Romanian for at least three consecutive years in a school unit that is part of the Romanian national system;
  • candidates submitting a certificate of graduation from the Romanian Language Preparatory Year issued by one of the accredited universities in Romania;
  • candidates who have taken the Romanian language proficiency test conducted by the University of Craiova during the admission session (as per the admission calendar provided above) and scored a B1 level or higher.

 

Study programmes taught in foreign languages

A foreign language proficiency test is required if a candidate cannot submit any supporting evidence pertaining to the fact that he/she has previously studied in that particular language. This requirement shall not apply to candidates originating in countries whose official language is the language in which the study programme will be carried out.

 

ENROLMENT

In order to be enrolled at the University of Craiova, candidates must submit, in original:

- all documents included in the application file;

- copy of their passport and study visa;

- two 3/4 photos.

 

Candidates must submit their study documents in original upon being authenticated by the authorities in the issuing country, as follows:

  1. The original study documents which are issued by states that are part of the Hague Convention shall bear the Hague Apostille of the competent authorities in the issuing country.
  2. The original study documents which are issued by states that are part of the Hague Convention shall be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country and by the Embassy/Consulate Office of Romania to the issuing country.

  

The deadline for enrolment at the University of Craiova is February 13, 2026.

VISA

Upon receiving their Letter of Acceptance from the Ministry, non-EU applicants must contact the closest Romanian authority and search for information concerning the study visa application.

This is a personal matter in which the university does not interfere. In case the visa application includes some documents issued by the university, the candidate must contact the university and request for those documents to be issued specifically.

Candidates must pay a file processing fee amounting to 400 RON or 80 EURO. The file processing fee should be paid online, via the EvStud online platform.

It is mandatory to pay the full tuition fee for the first year of study within a maximum of 15 calendar days from the date of electronic transmission via e-mail of the Letter of acceptance to studies.
